Interval training. The problem is not the total hours, but the length of the summer break. It would be better to have a shorter summer break and then more frequent shorter breaks during the school year. Kids DO forget things during summer vacation. How about six weeks on, two weeks off, teaching in thematic units with organized breaks or alternative activity.
