Well, that article makes me very sad. I left teaching 15 years ago and, although not a kindergarten teacher (I taught early primary), I could see that a trend to push young children into desks, and to get them printing and reading was developing. I assure you teachers are not behind this development—even though it’s easy to blame them. Society, government departments and overly competitive parents are first in the rush to apply this trend.
And it is international: same here in Spain.
