Nate Silver, of FiveThirtyEight, inspired me with this tweet:
Months in New York City, ranked:
- October
- September
- November
- June
- May
- December
- April
- July
- March
- January
- August
- February
His ranking, I’m sure, is the result of data science. Mine, on the other hand, is based on gut instinct mixed with hours of sunlight, lake temperatures, and optimal (sunny/dry) cycling conditions.
Months in Olympia, WA, ranked:
- July
- August
- June
- May
- September
- April
- March
- October
- November
- February
- December
- January
I will put Olympia’s June-August up against anywhere. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia would be a worthy rival if it weren’t for the afternoon showers.
Sigh, there’s no turning back now, we’re in the long dark night of winter.
I would rate Sept higher and June somewhat lower
That’s because you love seeing your students again.
That should work for us in Victoria, but for our fair city, I would rank April, May and June above all!
I love Victoria year round. April/May at the top makes sense since it’s pretourism madness.
October should be 7 and March 8. November and February should be 11 and 12. December 9 and January 10.
Thank you for your opinion, even if it’s wrong. :)
