I Can Do It Too

This guy, whose net worth is over $500m, has a huge following among young sports-minded men. He has won over $2m picking the winner of the last two professional golf events. You can take this to the bank—his recent, short-term luck will translate into hundreds of millions more lost by sports gambling addicts.

  1. I also made both of those bets knowing nothing about Dave Portnoy but my total payout on the both of them was $575 which includes the $207 dollars I had wagered. Gambling addiction is perhaps the worst addiction available but fortunately I don’t suffer from it. However, I do see it on a daily basis getting more and more prevalent here in Ohio since the state legalized gambling as of January 1, 2023. Vegas-type slot machines throughout the state with people playing them for hours on end when they are fully aware that only 80 cents of every dollar invested is paid out. The math itself shows it’s a losing proposition but it doesn’t seem to get through to many people and will inevitably lead to mental and financial destruction. Reminds me of what Mark Twain said on how you go broke – “Slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly and then suddenly!”
